Again, Happy New Year! It is hard to believe that January is already half over. It is about the time that we begin to forget about those New Year's Resolutions that we swore we were going to keep.
One resolution that I know is very popular is to "Read my Bible more." I want to challenge you to do just that. I recently read a statistic that upset me. It stated that only 25% of Christians read their Bible a few times a week. Reading your Bible on Sunday morning at church is not enough.
The virtue for the month of January in our Children's Grades 1-5 is KNOWLEDGE. All of our lessons emphasize the importance of knowing and gaining knowledge from God's word. Here are the keys points for all of our lessons...
"God has breathed life into all of Scripture. It is useful for teaching us what is true. It is useful for correcting our mistakes. It is useful for making our lives whole again. It is useful for training us to do what is right." 2 Timothy 3:16, NIrV

- Since God knows everything, it's important to discover what God says.
- Discovering what God says helps me know Jesus.
- Discovering what God says helps me make the wise choice.
- Know and doing what God says make me strong.
